Subscription Concert [1] "Music & Change"

Picture

Sunday, October 7, 2012 - 3:00 PM
Brett and Brayden Drevlow are brothers from Thief River Falls and are quickly becoming two of Northern Minnesota’s prominent and promising young talents in classical music. The program features Brett Drevlow in Capuzzi’s Concerto for Double Bass and Brayden Drevlow in Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in G minor.   Also on the program are Barber’s Essay No. 1 and Mendelssohn’s Italian Symphony.

Tunes & Topics - Join Dr. Everett immediately after the concert for a post-concert conversation.  Topics include a discussion of how music affects, inspires, and responds to change;  the reasons behind Mendelssohn's conversion to Catholicism; and how Mendelssohn's Jewish heritage informed the ways in which the Nazis reacted to his works.

All  Tickets  are for general admission seating. All concerts are at the Bemidji High School Auditorium, 2900 Division Street West, Bemidji, MN.  Directions
