Eric Haugen, cello
Eric Haugen is an accomplished cello soloist even at his young age. A Bemidji, Minnesota native, Eric was named the first place winner in the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition in February, 2009 and was honored by a solo performance with the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra at the Young People’s Concert in April 2009.
Eric began cello studies at the age of three. He told his parents that he wanted to play the cello because his friend started playing. He is currently polishing Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations and Saint-Saens’ Concerto in A minor. He’s played four solos at Stevens Point Suzuki Music Institute. Eric was selected as the first chair of the Minnesota Middle Level Honors Orchestra. He has been studying under Sonja Connell.
