Native American flutist Keith Bear joins Dr. Beverly Everett and the BSO for The Fable of Old Turtle, an original work by Linda Tutas Haugen based on the children’s book, Old Turtle, by Douglas Wood.
Keith Bear is a world-renowned Mandan-Hidatsa storyteller and musician from North Dakota, and has performed throughout the US and Europe. Composer and narrator Linda Tutas Haugen has received numerous awards, fellowships, and prominent commissions for her work.
Also on the program: The Planets (“Jupiter” & “Venus”) by Gustav Holst and Between Two Cultures by Russ Peterson.
